Darrin Barker - Instructor & Owner/Operator of The Dive Shop

Darrin  began diving over 25 years ago. He is a PADI Course Director, RecTech Instructor Trainer and TDI Instructor Trainer.  Darrin is also the most experienced factory trained service technician in Calgary. His favorite dives are off the Island of Vancouver and diving into the unknown world of caves in Florida. 

Keri's favorite dives are on the West Coast.  Originally a work-student, she took her Open Water Diver course with The Dive Shop and enjoyed it so much, she joined the staff permanently! 

Bill began diving in the early 1990's and has been teaching at the Dive Shop since 1998. He enjoys travel and photography and has been able to combine his interests at many exotic dive locations. Bill is also author of the local diving guide book "Southern Alberta Diving".

Peggy is from Australia and completed her Open Water Course on the West Coast of Australia.  Peggy has traveled the southern hemisphere in search of the best dives sites.  She is  now an Assistant Instructor who has completed the Rescue Diver course and above levels in the cold waters of Calgary. Peggy has recently moved to Scotland to pursue her career but she will be back!

Travis first started diving in 2004 and never stopped thinking about. He went right on to the next step and the next certification. In 2005 Travis achieved his Instructor rating, and loves every moment of it. He has dove in the warm waters of Honduras and Mexico and the cold waters in the B.C. Coast. His favorite type of diving is Wreck diving!

Rene has been diving since 1993. He started out in Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island and enjoyed the best cold-water diving the world has to offer for his first 8 years. He came to The Dive Shop in 2001 and has been teaching since 2002. He enjoys underwater navigation and loves teaching it. Rene’s favorite sort of diving is, by far, night but if you look really carefully, you may find him inside a shipwreck or two, as well.

Al Roemer has been diving since 1977 – and yes they did have scuba way back then! After years of sport diving, he decided to share his love of the sport and became an instructor only recently. Al loves wreck diving and has been fortunate to have been able to dive all over the globe. While warm water shipwrecks and photography are interesting, he still loves the cool clear waters of British Columbia the best.
